Description

Cat’s Claw Extract is obtained from the bark and vine of Uncaria tomentosa, a woody climbing plant native to the Amazon rainforest and other parts of South America. Known locally as “Uña de Gato,” it has been used for centuries by indigenous tribes as a traditional remedy to strengthen the immune system and support overall health.

The extract is standardized to oxindole alkaloids (≥3%–5%), considered the key active compounds responsible for its immune-modulating and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, Cat’s Claw contains polyphenols, tannins, and triterpenes that provide antioxidant support and contribute to joint comfort, digestive wellness, and cellular protection. Modern research highlights its potential benefits for immune balance, inflammatory response, and oxidative stress defense.

Commercial production involves careful harvesting and drying of the vine and bark, followed by aqueous–ethanolic extraction and spray-drying. The resulting fine brown powder is stable under dry storage, partially soluble in water, and suitable for use in a wide range of nutraceutical formulations. Cat’s Claw Extract is widely applied in immune support supplements, joint health blends, and general wellness products.
