Introduction

Chamomile Extract is obtained from the dried flower heads of Matricaria chamomilla (German Chamomile) or Chamaemelum nobile (Roman Chamomile), two closely related species long used in European folk medicine, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chamomile has been cherished for centuries as a calming herb for relaxation, sleep, digestion, and skin health.

The extract is standardized for apigenin and flavonoids, bioactive compounds recognized for their soothing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and digestive-supportive properties. Modern research highlights Chamomile Extract’s ability to promote relaxation, improve sleep quality, relieve mild digestive discomfort, and support skin regeneration.

Commercial production involves harvesting fresh blossoms, drying, and extracting with water-ethanol, followed by concentration and spray-drying. The resulting product is a light brown to yellow fine powder, stable under proper storage, soluble in ethanol, and partially soluble in water.
