Description

Coleus Forskohlii Extract is derived from the root of Coleus forskohlii, a perennial herb of the mint family native to India and Southeast Asia. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to promote heart health, respiratory function, and weight management. Known locally as “Makandi,” the root has been valued as a tonic herb supporting vitality and circulation.

The extract is standardized to forskohlin (≥10%–20%), a labdane diterpene unique to this species. Forskolin directly activates adenylate cyclase, increasing intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP) levels, which play a key role in regulating fat metabolism, cardiovascular function, and smooth muscle relaxation. Clinical studies suggest potential benefits for metabolic health, weight management, and healthy blood pressure support.

Commercial manufacturing involves careful cleaning and drying of coleus roots, followed by solvent extraction and concentration. The resulting extract is a fine yellow-brown powder, soluble in ethanol and suitable for capsules, tablets, and sports nutrition formulations.
