Description

Green Tea Extract is derived from the young leaves of Camellia sinensis, a plant native to China and now widely cultivated across Asia and other regions. For over a thousand years, green tea has been consumed both as a beverage and a traditional herbal remedy, valued for promoting energy, longevity, and overall wellness.

The extract is standardized to polyphenols (≥50%–98%) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG ≥20%–60%), powerful catechin compounds known for their strong antioxidant activity. These bioactives contribute to weight management, cardiovascular health, metabolic support, and cellular protection. In addition, green tea naturally contains L-theanine, which promotes mental focus, calmness, and cognitive balance.

Commercial production involves steaming and drying fresh tea leaves to preserve catechins, followed by aqueous–ethanolic extraction and spray-drying. The resulting fine yellow-green powder is stable under proper storage, water-soluble, and suitable for use in capsules, tablets, functional beverages, and dietary supplements.
